 By Bernadet Ewww, tomorrow I`ve got to go back to school again. I`ve definitely enjoyed my week of freedom and I wish I`d have another week. I managed to miss the kick-off of the current semester so to be honest I don`t have the slightest clue what I`ll be doing. The theme is called database development, so it`ll probably have something to do with databases…probably some PHP and Java thrown in too, since they love doing that. The theme description also says you have to have a high motivation for the theme, which kinda scares me…since me and motivation aren`t usually very good buddies.
But we`ll see, maybe it`s actually loads of fun! I hope so! What kind of scares me too is that I haven`t heard anyone I know yet who will be following the same theme. Most will be taking their internship this semester, which I`ve already done last semester. So I`ll be all alone and will have to find new people to talk with…eep. I hope you won`t get to pick your own groups, as I won`t know anyone which will definitely end up in me being in the leftover group which usually suckkkks. So yeah, fingers crossed that the teacher will be making groups or that I know someone =P
I had to go to work this morning and it kind of sucked. I got out of my bed at 8 am on a sunday to get my butt over there and when I arrived they were like ‘oh…you got the day off today. Didn`t you know?’…No…I did not know…else I wouldn`t be standing here NOW WOULD I??? UGH….
Though I did enjoy my day off =P
By Bernadet Hey y`all, I`m sorry for abandoning you for so long! Not that you actually missed me, but I apologize anyway *g*
Today is the very last day of my internship! It`s sooooo awesome I`m nearly freeee! I also managed to discovered that next semester I`ll be taking a different theme than I thought I was taking. I thought I was taking IT service management but I managed to look at the wrong column of the table and I`m actually taking Database development. The IT service management is in my third semester. I`m such a loser *g* This might also mean that I`ll have to get my hands on that book I was missing as soon as possible…but maybe not. I need only three books for database development so I hope that I have those three. I only missed one ^_^
Also, sister managed to win two tickets for holiday on ice. So we`re going there for free now…yaaay. It`s be cold though ><
And sister can make her own skirts! I worship her for it, I`m a disaster when it comes to sewing and she makes gorgeous skirts! I`m working on a bright red polka-dotted skirt with a layer of white tulle underneath though. Once day, it shall be done!
By Bernadet As the title already states, I`m convinced that I am not a human but that I am in fact a tree. Why? you may wonder…
As you all know (most) trees decide to shed their leaves during fall. It`s fall now, so trees are shedding their stuff…unfortunately, so am I. Every fall I seem to lose half of my hair because of mysterious reasons and the awful weather makes my skin go all flaky and fall of as well. I hate it…I don`t want to be a tree! Stop me from being a tree!
I found a nice cream which helps against the dry skin though, but it smells really strongly like coconut so I`ve decided I`m a coconut tree now. A very lovely smelling coconut tree who might shed either hairs or coconuts on you. *cackles*
I`m sitting in front of a huge window at my internship (which is very distracting when you`re trying to work) and it shows me that it is raining. In fact, it has been showing me that for 6,5 hours now. Fall has only just started and I`m already sick of it again. And the daylight saving time is making my internal clock go insane. It never agrees with me on when I should wake up and go to sleep anymore. CURSE YOU FALL!

I`ve updated the about Melwen page since the character has been getting a bit more developed lately (it`s definitely not done yet though) and I have made a new character portrait of her. The new character portrait was mainly because I thought my 3d art skills have improved so I could make a better portrait but there are also some minor things I changed to her appearance while I had the change. E.g. I made her hair more honey coloured instead of very light.
Isn`t she lovely? I think she looks a _lot_ more realistic than the previous one did. And as Jacob so nicely put it ‘I like her better because she`s hotter’. Don`t we all want to be hot? *g*
I don`t know what else to blog about right now, just wanted to show you the new Melwen. I may edit this later when I think of something else to blog about, or I may not…who knows?!
By Bernadet I just made a deal with my boss. He wanted me to come work next Wednesday to help the new intern found his way around the website and all the other things I`d been dealing with for the last ten weeks. But next week, my internship is supposed to be over already so we decided to make a little deal that if I came next Wednesday I`d be allowed to take off one day this week.
So I decided to take the Friday off and give myself a long weekend. I`m already looking forward to it! This Sunday I`ll be going to a Gothic and fantasy convention with my sister and dad and I`m really looking forward to it since I`ll be able to dress up without people thinking I`m an idiot. I might even be able to wear my pretty elf ears for once! I <3 my elf ears.
Sister is at the hospital in Utrecht now, trying to claim the job. I`m nervous for her…I so hope she`ll get the job! It would be awesome to live in Utrecht and I`ll be very jealous of her…I`ll probably be visiting her each and every weekend *g* Also, we`d have a convenient place to sleep at the Elf Fantasy Fair.
By Bernadet I`m sorry for not blogging the entire weekend, I was busy with lots of stuff. We don`t celebrate halloween here in the Netherlands but I got to enjoy it a bit anyway since we always get special halloween icons for a month on the plaza. Each kingdom picks a theme and your icon gets changed to a character from that theme. Like, PotC or Star Wars. Usually, it`s loads of fun!
Unfortunately…this year was an anticlimax, to say the least. We`d all been expecting awesome themes (I myself had hoped at least one kingdom had the sense to pick True Blood) but we were gravely disappointed by the following themes: Imladris – NCIS, KD – King Arthur, MT – Marvel Superheroes, Rohan – Star Gate, Shire – Firefly, Lothlorien – Scrubs, Fangorn – House, Mordor – A song of ice and fire.
Half of us had to google who we were since we had never even heard of the characters. I`m in Lorien so I`m now a character of scrubs. I`m an ugly old man named Bob Kelso and I don`t have a frigging clue who he is. I`m jealous of Fangorn, they got the fun hospital *lol*
Anyway, enough ranting…time for some art! I made this one on halloween to show my obsession with vampires. I`d never attempted to make a vampire before so I guess it`s quite alright for a first shot…

By Bernadet Turns out my sister wasn`t being pure evil and ignoring my emails all day long after all, she`d just neglected to check her email the entire day because of her laptop being broken. (so technically she did ignore my email but I`ll forgive her since she had a reason to do so). So I called her with my cellphone – which I for once did not find a useless invention – and she decided to come shopping with me! whoooo!
So while waiting for her (mum had to pick up some food with the car before sis could use it to get to me) I ate a billy-sandwich at the IKEA while watching the helicopters come and go from the hospital. It was quite amusing…except for the fact that it took sis over an hour to get there. But I forgive her for that too since mum was being very slow with picking up the food and too lazy to take her bike. BOO MUM.
There was an awesome guy playing the bagpipes in the city, he had a leopard print on his bagpipes. He was like…the pimp of pipers! But he got a bit creepy when we noticed he was EVERYWHERE. When we were at one end of the street he was standing there playing music. We were like ‘whooaa awesome’ and continued on shopping. A little while later we reached the other end of the street. And guess what? HE WAS THERE TOO. I suspect he teleports…which makes him even more awesome!
I bought some proper tea while we were shopping and it smells so good (with proper tea I mean tea leaves, not the less tasty variant that comes in teabags). And and and, I got a gorgeous steel book version of the movie Silent Hill, for only 10 euros. I think Silent Hill is a GENIUS movie so ofcourse, I couldn`t resist this offer.
When I got home I finally got some inspiration and time to make new art again so I bring to you – Bored Fairy and Bored Fairy closeup! *g*

By Bernadet Hey everyone! I highly doubt anyone but the people I poke here actually read this blog but I`ll continue doing so anyway, cause I rather enjoy being able to put my thoughts in words. It makes me think about them a lot less…too bad I can`t put anything private on here since you`ll always see that the people who you`re gossiping about will read the blog. Stuff like that always happens to me *g*
As you might have noticed, I changed the layout of the site a bit. I finally managed to think clearly and realised that I seriously wasn`t getting enough visitors to earn a proper amount out of the adsense and that they were probably only annoying people, so I removed them again. They may returns when I get more visitors. (According to my webstats I one day have 200 unique visits and another day 10…so it`s not very stable).
After a bit of analyses of seeing which link people clicked I discovered that a lot of people have a hard time finding my digital art page. I haven`t found a way to make it more obvious yet but I have found a way to show a bit of art on the main page. Below the polaroid there are now four random pieces of art I made, just to make them more accessible. I also divided the pieces on the digital art page into different albums since the page was already getting rather long with hardly any art on it, this way it`ll be a lot easier to manage.
Now I finished telling you about the changes to the site, let`s start the personal rambling…
I only have 6 more days of internship left, which means I`m nearly going to get some spare time again. I`m really really really looking forward to that. I didn`t realize how hard working 6 days a week full time would be. Actually, I didn`t realize it up to about two weeks ago. The first few weeks it didn`t tire me or wear me down but these days I`m really starting to notice that and I understand why people need two days of free time a week. I could sleep right now..I really could.
I also feel a strong urge to buy things so I want to go shopping, but my sister hasn`t responded to my email asking if she wanted to come shopping with me. She`s pure evil…EVIL I TELL YOU. I even tried luring her with the prospect of eating onion rings at the macdonalds (we LOVE onion rings). Maybe she`s just sleeping…I hope she`s just sleeping instead of ignoring me. Cause I`ll have to go slap her if she is ignoring me *slaps* 8D Her laptop broke though, so maybe she`s just too lazy to get a different one…just like she`s too lazy to write on this blog…BOOOOOOO @ sister. (Secretly I still love you though sis *g*).
You`re probably getting bored by now…if you`re still reading this…which you probably aren`t…so I`m going to stop now. Bye darlings!

By Bernadet I just spend a looong time staring at a puzzle in professor layton until I discovered that I`d be counting wrong all the time. I`d managed to think that there were 100 mm in a cm, while there are obviously only 10mm in a cm. I fail…big time.
Anyway, I`m finally starting to get a little less stressed now my internship is coming to an end and I have a few less duties on the plaza. At times, I`ve even got spare time left. It`s not much though…but at least it`s something.
Having a bit of spare time also meant that I finally found some time to work on new 3d art again! The next one is a work in progress, I don`t think I`m quite done with her yet so I won`t add her to the digital art page yet. I just wanted to give you a little something to look at.
 Queen I`m also considering to write a tutorial on how to make these. (I`d give away my secret of how easy it actually is though *g*). Would anyone be interested in this?
By Bernadet As you might have noticed some things have been changed about the site lately. I have added adsense blocks in an attempt to earn some money with my blog. Even if it`s just a few dollars a year I`d be happy. Tell me if they are too annoying though and I`ll remove them. I tried picking the smallest size possible to keep them from being too obtrusive, I hope I succeeded.
Another thing I have quite drastically changed is the Digital Art page. A lot of the art on that page was outdated, stuff I made when I only just started doing 3d art years ago. When I looked at them I was embarrassed of them, and though I quite often heard that they were pretty I just didn`t want to show them anymore. So from now on only the more recent art can be seen there or the older art which I can live with (though that probably won`t stay long either…I`m just waiting till I have enough new content to fill a page). I also divided the art by categories and I have increased the size of a thumbnail from 100×100 to 150×150 so you guys can see the preview a bit better.
Unfortunately, no one has clicked the pictures yet since I changed it while they used to be clicked quite often before I changed it. Did you guys like the old design better? Is that why you stopped clicking? Or do you no longer feel the need to click them since the preview is big enough to see the image. Please comment and if the general opinion is that the old design was better I`ll change it back *hugs*
Also, my internship only lasts for two more weeks so in two weeks I`ll finally be able to get more active online again. I can`t wait to return to full activity on the plaza. What I can`t wait for either is the halloween icons! I`m sooo curious as to which icons we`ll get for halloween. I`m desperately hoping for True Blood, but unfortunately I have little hope for it since the show is a _bit_ mature
